We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided
[DE] Wie ihr vielleicht schon geahnt habt, sind meine Lieblingslocations draußen vor Ort. Die Optionen zum Shooten sind ohne Limit und geben dem Betrachter eine Atmosphäre. Obwohl ich nicht dazu gezwungen bin draußen zu shooten, fühle ich dazu eine viel größere Verbindung! Man hat eine weniger kontrollierte Umgebung und das ist herausfordernder. Die Bilder nehmen den Betrachter an Orte mit, an denen er vorher noch nie gewesen ist oder zeigen ihm einen Ort von einer ganz anderen Perspektive. Das Licht und das Wetter spielen eine wichtige Rolle in der Entscheidung über die Stimmung eines Portraits. Ebenfalls entscheidend bei Aussehen und dem Feeling eines Portraits sind natürliche Requisiten. Dinge, die ich gerne in meinen Portraits sind zum Beispiel Türrahmen, Torbogen, Pflanzen, Bäume oder sogar Wände und Treppen, die mir dabei helfen, Models in Szene zu setzen. Ein paar davon seht ihr vielleicht auch in meinen Fotos von diesem Shooting.
Im Fotoshooting dieser Woche lernt ihr Hürol kennen, mit dem ich in der Altstadt von Koblenz fotografiert habe. Dort shoote ich oft, denn hier gibt es so viele historische Gebäude und tolle Nebenstraßen. Ich finde es super, die kleinen Besonderheiten der Natur und der Gebäude für meine Fotoshootings zu verwenden. Wenn ihr einmal plant Koblenz zu besuchen, kann ich euch einen Nachmittag in der Altstadt sehr empfehlen, denn ihr werdet sicherlich fantastische Locations entdecken!

[EN] As you may have gathered, my favourite places to shoot are on location. The options to shoot are limitless and give more atmospherical emotion to the onlooker. While I am not limited to shooting only on-location, I feel much more of a connection working in the outside world. There is less of a controlled environment and I like to take on challenges. The images take the viewer to places that they may have never been before, or seeing a certain place from a different perspective. Lighting and weather conditions play an important roll on deciding the mood of your portraits. There is also the use of natural props that can add to a portrait’s look and feel. Such things I like to utilise in my portraits are door ways to frame my models, plants and trees for textured backgrounds or even walls and stairways to give the photo more perspective. You may see a few of these examples in this shoot.
This week’s photoshoot introduces Hürol, shot in the old town of Koblenz. I shoot in this area often as it has so many historical buildings and wonderful side streets. I love to take advantage of the pockets of nature and architecture it has to offer. If you plan on visiting Koblenz as a tourist or photographer, I highly recommend an afternoon walking around here; you’ll discover fantastic locations for sure!
